So… Back again to help you get your sauna building project off the ground. Did you know that building a sauna does not need any specialized skills or wits. Anybody can do it successfully and make it look like any other that has been made by a professional. Probably the most important things that you need to have prior to initiating the building is wood/plywood and heater.

Other tools required include a four bulb sockets, four 250 watt red heat bulbs, one switch board, a wire to use in connecting the bulbs to the switch, a male plug in, ½ thick plywood with a height of 40 along with a width of 15 and around 10 screws.

The building process begins by fixing the wood and plywood with screws. They should be made to have a diamond shape so that thy looks like a narrow and long piece of diamond.

Take the wires and connect them in a parallel way so that not a single bulb gets within the way with the entire construction. A switch board that will be turned on and off is better than utilizing a plug that may easily get wet.

The set up of the sauna ought to then be placed against the walls for adequate support and prevent them from falling.

Do not touch the wires or the bulbs when it is switched on or you may be electrocuted. If there’s some thing you need to touch, first switch off.

When building a sauna, the children should not be too close to the website. If they show interest or they wish to be involved in building, have them put on protective clothing.

When making the enclosure, use softwood such as cedar or plywood. This would be to make certain that the material used has the capability of withstanding harsh heat. These supplies ought to measure up to around 6 or 7 feet in height and a width of 4 to 5 feet.

Make a sliding entry door that opens halfway. Fiber glass of a thickness of three inches could be used to access the door. The top should over be left open to act as a ventilation and let steam out of the sauna.

If you are building an outside sauna, you need to first check with the authorities. The area should have a great supply of both water and power.

The electric stoves being used should be of the same size as the sauna. The much more you increase the sauna, the much more you’re supposed to increase the capacity of the sauna’s kilowatts.

Prior to making the sauna obtainable for use, let an electrician check out the lighting and also the heating system of the sauna.

Next I’ll be writing about the various material needed and where to buy it at a good wholesale price!

“We are planning to build an outdoor sauna, and i was wondering if we should have a window in the sauna. We will be having a change room attached. Could you please give me your opinion on this”

This is a good question, should you build a window inside the outdoor sauna. My answer is yes. There are many reasons that it is good to have a window in the sauna. The beauty and nature to have the sauna outside and if you have a window the view of that nature. You must note that it is important if that you have cut two holes that will help with the ventilation for air to come in and out.
In the room attached one window would be good to have as well. So in both the sauna and changing room a window. Make sure the window in the sauna is small. About the size of a face and can open.

First thing is first, do you have any ideas what you would like your sauna to be like?

Traditional, Modern or Rustic? There are many questions that you must ask yourself.

Will the sauna be built inside your house or in the out-house? Or Cottage?

Are you comfortable with putting blinds in your home? If so, I recommend, discount window treatments.

The next post I’ll add a sauna checklist!
